About Us
No hurdle is too big for Julie Poveromo, a licensed insurance agent with a passion for eventing. Julie’s background as a hunter rider, Pony Clubber, instructor, and trainer gives her the tools to speak to you, one horse lover to another. She has successfully competed through the Preliminary level and particularly enjoys the process of bringing a young prospect up the ranks. Her current horse is No Trouble, an off-the-track Thoroughbred who won several year-end IDCTA awards in his first year of eventing and continues to place well at horse trials throughout the Midwest. Julie’s goal is to compete Trouble in a long-format Preliminary three day event and CCI*, with sights set on Intermediate in the future. Giving back to the sport is important to Julie. She serves on the board of directors of the Illinois Dressage & Combined Training Association, provides support to the U.S. Eventing Association Area IV Adult Riders Program, and serves as a local Pony Club examiner. Hallmark customers will get expert guidance as Julie helps navigate through the coverage options.
Kelley Cote, a licensed agent at Hallmark, is a lifelong horse owner. She’s a two-time Blackhawk Appaloosa Association Horseman of the Year who’s enjoyed success showing as both a youth and non-pro. She has won National and Reserve National Championship titles and has multiple top-ten placings at the National and World Championship Appaloosa shows. Her current show horse is Drew A Winning Straw (Bosco), a homebred gelding who’s shown his versatility in hunter under saddle, saddle seat, and over fence classes, among others. Kelley is hoping to branch out into the hunter and eventing worlds with him in the near future as well. When she’s not actually sitting on a horse, Kelley dedicates herself to promoting horsemanship; she has served on the Blackhawk Appaloosa Association and Long Creek ApHC board of directors, helped organize horse shows, and promoted her breed at the Midwest Horse Fair. It’s a great pleasure for her to help Hallmark customers find the best insurance solutions for their horses.
Every organization needs that special behind-the-scenes person who acts as the glue to hold everything together. Hallmark couldn’t run so smoothly without Mary. Mary is our Radar O’Reilly—she keeps everyone else organized and on the ball, and she knows where to find anything we need. Mary is creative and detail-oriented, skills she uses at work and for her hobby of scrapbooking. She is also a Disney World devotee, having visited at least once during each of the last 20-plus years. However, she’s keeping the identity of her favorite Disney horse a secret.
