Mortality
Coverage
The
Full Mortality policy is an all risks policy which covers
for death as a result of accident, illness, injury,
humane destruction and transportation anywhere in the
continental U.S. or Canada, and includes loss or death
as a result of theft. International trip transit and
worldwide coverage are available for an additional premium.
Vet certificates are not required for horses valued
up to $50,000. Foals under 30 days old require a Foal
Vet Certificate.
Colic
Surgery Coverage
At
no extra cost, the Full Mortality policy includes coverage
for colic surgery up to $3,000.
Guaranteed
Extension
The
Full Mortality policy also includes Guaranteed Extension
coverage. This coverage provides that in the event of
a condition occurring and reported during the policy
period, mortality coverage will automatically continue
for up to 12 months from the expiration date for that
specific condition.
Value
Endorsement
AEIG
Full Mortality policies also include a Value endorsement.
This coverage provides that in the event of a mortality
claim, if the value of your horse at any time during
the policy period was equal to the limit of indemnity,
you will be paid that amount.
Major Medical and Surgical
For an additional charge, coverage can be added to your
Mortality Policy for the cost of medical and surgical
procedures including diagnostics as a result of accident,
illness, injury, or disease. This coverage is available
for horses ages 6 months through 15 years.
There are two Major Medical plans available.
Up
to $7,500 Annual Aggregate Limit
This
coverage offers a limit of a maximum of $7,500, not
to exceed the horse's insured mortality limit, subject
to a $300 deductible per illness, injury or incident.
$10,000
Annual Aggregate Limit
This
coverage offers a limit of $10,000, subject to a $300
deductible per illness, injury or incident.
Surgical
Only
For
an additional charge, coverage can be added to your
Mortality Policy for the cost of surgical operating
room charges. In addition, you will receive a maximum
of 100% of that cost for approved non-surgical aftercare
medical fees. The annual aggregate limit is $5,000,
subject to a $0 deductible per illness, injury, or incident.
Coverage is available for horses ages 6 months through
17 years.
Colic
Medical and Surgical Coverage
Colic
Medical and Surgical Coverage provides an annual limit
of the lesser of $3,000 or sixty percent (60%) of the
mortality limit of liability, for cost of medical and
surgical colics, including aftercare, subject to a $300
deductible.
Equine
Third Party Liability Coverage
Available
as an addition to your mortality policy, this option
provides coverage in the event your horse injures a
third party or damages their property. Coverage is for
defense fees and pays claims for which you are legally
liable subject to a $250 deductible with an annual aggregate
limit of $25,000.
Should you desire higher liability limits, consider
a Equine Personal Liability
Policy.
Stallion
Infertility for A S & D
In
the event your proven stallion becomes permanently incapable
of settling mares in foal as a result of accident, sickness
or disease, this coverage pays up to 100% of the insured
value.
Full
Loss of Use
In the event your horse becomes permanently
unable to perform its insured use as a result of an
accident, illness, injury or disease, this coverage
pays up to 50% of the insured value. Full Loss of Use
coverage requires the submission of the Full Loss of
Use Vet Certificate for coverage consideration. This
coverage is available for select uses only. Please call
for more information.
External
Injury Only Loss of Use
If
your horse is permanently unable to perform its insured
use due to a visible injury caused by external, accidental,
and violent means, this coverage pays up to 50% of the
insured value. This coverage is available for select
uses only. Please call for more information.
Territorial
Limits Including Transit
The
Full Mortality policy only provides coverage for horses
while located in the continental United States and Canada.
If a horse travels outside this area or is purchased
abroad and imported, you need to add this coverage to
your policy.
